Jet lagged

Sitting in 婆 婆's kitchen

Morgan and I are jet-lagging at the moment, hence the lack of postings since we arrived! Anyway we have had a lovely journey travelling together from London Heathrow till we got to 婆 婆's house in Singapore. Nothing too difficult or stressful, and lots of great people offered help along the way! It was definitely the right decision to take Morgan on a rucksack carrier as that gave me the freedom to tow my luggage and grab a sandwich along the way.

We got to Heathrow in plenty of time. Thanks to Sharon for keeping watch of the time while at lunch (and the lovely pressie too!), we were already at the airport 3 hours before the flight. After the Internet check-in, I roamed about the shops abit. Not before long, I realised its time to head for the departure lounge. Before we were allowed to go in, we had to dispose/declare all bottles with liquids. After I went through the scanning area, I was asked to drink whatever miserable bits that was left in Morgan's drinking cup. Then there was another stretch where our shoes had to be removed and scanned. I thought the two Japanese ladies in front of me found it rather unamusing. After all that, I thought I could now rest as I wait to board the plane. Then Morgan had to make a poo at this point and I reached into my bag. Then I realised I haven't got quite so many number of nappies to take on board as I packed the rest of the disposables in my checked-in luggage! In fact I had only 1 diaper left before I changed Morgan and I thought I could be stuffed if I don't get some more. You know, when you panic you start thinking of things like : what if they don't have enough nappies on the plane? That's exactly what I did! I know that in half an hour, the plane would be leaving and I had only 20mins to get to Boots and back for a pack of nappies at least, if I'm lucky ... get him changed as well! Anyway I did it but only to discover later that I didn't really need 30 extra nappies as he needed only 2 changes in the next 13 hours! grrrrr .....

On the plane the stewardesses were totally charmed over by his deceivingly good nature and coy smiles. He was even able to shuffle along the aisle without being told off ! We met some little friends on board; including a 4 years old Malaysian-born-Chinese girl who lives in London and an Irish born-in-Cork 22 month old boy sitting next to us. I am surprised how well he had taken to the journey on the plane. He slept for a good 5 out of 13 hours in the bassinette, and ate bits of my lunch and dinner. He had also finished all of the food that Daddy's made for him. He played peek-a-boo with a young lady sitting behind us while his little Irish friend on the other side battled on with insufferable sleep and a poor appetite. The fact that I managed to catch at least 1 in-flight movie - Casino Royale, was a sure indication that he had been a good boy for me.

Upon landing, we had no trouble getting out of the airport and was warmly greeted by the tropical heat and Morgan's fabulous godmother Joanna Chan & her kids, Rene and Ruben - who are absolute darlings. We had a little mooch together at MacDonalds, like long-lost friends and got a lift home that evening. It had been a really long day !!!
