O Gegin Mam-gu (from grandma's kitchen)

Morgan seems not to show any signs of being bigger but he definitely feels alot heavier these days! It must be all that good food from grandma's kitchen! Berries are Morgan's favourite fruit any day.

Mam-gu's garden is a sign of happy green fingers at work. There are lots of delightful plants and flowers abound and a thriving vegetable patch full of organic greens and beans. I have great admiration for Morgan's grandmother who, at her long-retired age, still dedicates unfailing energy and spirit for the garden. It can only be a labour of love.

Lucky for us, we get to enjoy the freshest long beans and herbs like parsely and mint from the garden. This beats buying from the shops and supermarkets!

Morgan is definitely a strawberry patch kid. He has virtually wiped out most of the strawberries during our stay there.

Now I see a strawberry ... now I don't.

And then it's gone ..... and of course we know where it's gone!

Afternoon Delights

Lovely Picnic Weekend!

Here's one to show Morgan's Aunty Ann what a lovely picnic we've had the weekend before last. We were in Cwmmystwyth's Arch with mam-gu, tad-cu, daddy, mummy and uncle hywel. The picnic basket was a present for mam-gu on her 80th Birthday this year and we have found the perfect day to put it to good use!

Playground at Castell Rock

Some fab pictures captured last week at the playground by Castell Rock, Aberystwyth. I think Morgan and tad-cu had a terrific time together!

Popeth yn iawn 'da ni!

Sut Mae! sut wyt ti?
Morgan and mummy came over to Aberystwyth for 3 weeks! First of all we are here to spend time with Morgan's tad-cu and mam-gu. Our next excuse is to enjoy the beach here - to feel the sun in our eyes, and the wind in our hair, heaven you know ... Besides Morgan's mummy is also taking the Welsh summer course in the university college while mam-gu and tad-cu babysit! Perfaith! The other reason is purely because mummy's brains needed some exercising before it degenerates into a useless lump of grey matter.

Anyway - yr haul, yr traeth a y Cymraeg - a combination I can only say hyfryd! Mae'r Morgan yn bachgen da pob dydd!
He now truly enjoys the company of his grandparents and treats Bro Dawel like his own home. When mummy goes for her lessons from 9am - 5pm, he spends his time playing with plastic bottles and grandpa's shoes. There's plenty of opportunities for exploring in the house and he moves in and out with ease. Occasionally he goes out to the garden and picks the flowers for grandma. He has also learnt to point to them and to say his first Chinese word - 花 "hua" which means flowers. Sometimes in the afternoon grandma takes him for a nice walk along the beach or to visit a friend in the neighbourhood. At the end of the day his favourite activity is still to throw mummy a kazillion kisses when she comes home. And we have dinner together before a walk to the playground or the park, then a bath and a story, and then to bed.

Big job for Uncle Hywel and Aunty Julie - they will be baby-sitting Morgan for the day! More later ....

petit cheri

I think the previous flood posting must have caused a few panic buttons to go. Therefore to reassure everyone, we are doing really fine ON the Malvern Hills. If it starts to flood up here, I believe most of England would be underwater, so not likely to happen lah! We've just started to have much better weather this week but it's not quite as good as what we had in March and April, just when we were away in Singapore! Always the way isn't it?

By the way Morgan's mummy had been down with a bad cold - sorethroat, headache, the lot! I've been stuck in bed a lot last week and strangely got listening to Bryan Ferry & Roxy Music, feeling like a soppy teenager again with tissue-bits stuffed up my nose! Old favourites like 'Slave to Love' and 'Oh yeah' still pulls a chordstring in my heart - talking about it now makes me feel incredibly old you know! Besides what really got mummy well in the end are Morgan's little kisses (o petit cheri!) which he faithfully gives every morning and night and whenever you ask for it! What will I do without my little darling?
